Invitation to participate

Subject: Bates Web – next phase

Folks-

Thanks so much for your advice and assistance this year as we transformed a big idea — how to make a better first impression for Bates visitors and help them follow their interests — into the reality of the Home site. Since we have the flexibility to make continuous improvements to the site, I hope you will continue to share your ideas on Home 4.

I’m now drafting a plan for renovating and sustaining improved Web sites for academic departments and administrative offices. While Ethan is working on the updates to the Home/Views site — which we’re calling Home 4.1 — I am working to capture our vision as well as the specific needs we’ve identified over the past several years.

Would you be able to meet to provide early feedback on a draft version of this plan? Here are several possible times to meet this week, if you might be available. If none of these times works for you, I’d be happy to schedule a more convenient time. (Meeting Maker can find when we’re all available, but I’d be happy to meet in smaller groups or individually.)

Thanks, in advance for any time you might be able to provide for this preliminary planning.

-Jay

Subject: Editable site inventory

Folks-

I’ve posted an editable site inventory on Google Docs in the hope that you might help make it more accurate.

This will help us better investigate how much content has been published over the past 6 years and how much of that is current.

Any additions and improvements you can make by next Tuesday, October 13, would be appreciated!

-Jay
